(1) Reasons and necessity for adjustment: After long-term operation of the punching machine, the brake pads may wear out, which will affect the braking time and braking angle, causing synchronization errors between the brake and clutch. At this time, adjustments must be made.
(2) The appropriate detection method for clutch/brake clearance:
A. Place the punch slide in the bottom dead center position, press the main motor stop button to put the flywheel in a stationary state (the main power supply is still in the NO state).
B. Push the brake plate towards the flywheel side of the punch press to reveal the gap between the clutch/brake, and measure the gap size with a thickness gauge (the normal gap between the clutch/brake is 1.5-2mm).
C. If the gap exceeds this, additional shims must be added for adjustment (the measured gap minus 1.5 (mm)=increase in shim thickness).
